My problem isn’t quite as advanced as yours (wow), but maybe because of that, I’m finding the “unread items” indicator extremely difficult to ignore. “Oh, it’ll just take a few minutes to check these out.”

I might have to take kristine’s suggestion (thanks, kristine!) and turn off the notification for the pages I read less often. But then I just feel like I’m missing out on something.

All the others set to be ignored by the Notifier. Then, ONLY read the ones that you are notified of. (This may require creating some folders based on this organization system.) Later, when you have down time, go after the others. I do this because I can't stand to see that there are posts waiting—that little red number mocks me!
