Y'know, I'm starting to reconsider. Since I've started talking to people about their cell phones, I've heard so many complaints about Cingular...

I was only considering Cingular because my girlfriend is locked in with them and the mobile-to-mobile minutes would be really nice, but everyone keeps telling me that it's not worth it, and I think they're probably right. I wouldn't be saving much money with them anyways, since they got rid of all their cheap plans. Not worth the hassle, from what I can tell.

CM:

Thank you for the suggestions. I'll try to avoid Bank of America (but what if the water bottles are *really* nice?).

The embroidered bag idea is splendid as well. It will surely help me find my manservant in a crowd, as I certainly won't take the trouble to learn his name or face.

Tokyo:
Thanks for the advice. I'm hoping to find a bank with branches close to home, but I'm not holding my breath.

Taco John:
I like gadgets. Blackberries sound like fun gadgets. I'll have to look into that.

this is a great list. I love lists.

And i've not been paying close attention to details here, but let me recomend that you get an account at a place that has locations and ATMs near both the school, and your home. I have to walk a few extra blocks to get an to an ATM here in NYC, but there are NO ATMS for citibank anywhere near the part of San Diego where my parents live.

I suggest Citizens Bank or Wainwright Bank. Both have branches in Harvard Square. They are also part of the SUM network, which means you can use other SUM ATMs with no fee.

Don't fall for Bank of America, no matter how many water bottles they give you. They will charge you fees for every tiny thing.

Also, I suggest having your new name embroidered on your bright red HLS messenger bag.

Get a Blackberry. Then when someone asks you where you got it, say "The firm that's going to hire me in three years gave it to me."

In all seriousness, I have a friend who has a Blackberry, and it's awesome. You can get the nice new ones on Cingular and T-Mobile. Worth a look. T-Mobile's plan isn't even that expensive for unlimited data and a bunch of phone minutes.
