New Blawg Season

It's getting to be the time of year when the pre-law/almost 1L blogs start to pop up. Well, except for Stag who has been blogging her pre-law experience re-counting beans forever.

Tonight I noticed a referral from Magic Cookie, which I've added to the ever-growing, in need of a pruning blogroll. CM has a good series of posts on why she applied to law school, something I never wrote.

Also, I've made the chocolate rasperry torte from The Joy of Cooking before. I suggest ditching the whipped cream and going with a Chambord-spiked ganache. It makes for a more solid cake and you still get to use your heavy cream.

Hello! Thanks for the link.

I've been around for a while -- just not on your radar.

Doesn't ganache make for thin layers? Or did you do whipped ganache? I thought about that, but I've never made it before and Joy said it had to be used immediately.

I guess you have been around for quite awhile. I couldn't find your archives last night because I was looking for the list of months rather than the list box. My blawg reading hasn't been very adventurous for about a year so I only find new ones when I see a referral.

Ganache does go on pretty thinly but it makes a good glue if you're trying to hold cakes or layers together. It's easy, too. Chocolate, butter and cream melted together.

You're so good at that. Why would you ever give that up for law school?
