Rough day today. I went to school but I only attended one class and then came back home. My legs really hurt and I forgot to take any Advil with me and I felt tired and weak. I’m chalking that up to low red and white blood cell counts. I knew at the train station this morning that it was going to be a rough day and probably should have just gotten in my car and come back home then.

Do you have a locker at school (or the option to have one). Could you stock it with things like pain pills, heating pads, etc., a pillow, etc., that might make you more comfortable. Especially since you have such a long commute to school! If not, could the dean's office give you a space to keep these kinds of items. Hope the pain gets better really soon!!!

I'm praying for your pain to dissipate and your energy to increase this week. I am also hoping that you feel the warmth and love coming to you from so many. Hang in there- better days are coming and each hard one that you get through gets you that much closer! You can do this, Kim! You are already way down this road and there IS an end!

Kim, Maybe not low wbc so much as taxol. It's pretty much known for the muscle weakness, leg pain. The bain of my 4 course Taxol treatment was roving bands of energy-sapping Taxol Toxins that would strike when I least expected it. I would be having the best of days, feeling fit and healthy, I would venture far from home with some particular goal only to be completely robbed of all energy in minutes. Once, I swear I could have happily laid down on the floor of the grocery store & slept oblivious to who was watching. I was suddenly THAT exhausted. I think I almost preferred the AC. At least it's crappiness was predictable.
The upswing is, (and I know this will hurt your ego greatly) if you can manage to not walk much at school you should be ok. Perhaps a little motorized scooter? Is your ego screaming yet? Mine would be. But I had to do a motorized wheelchair at Disneyland! Now THAT hurt.

Kim, I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time. But, good for you for deciding to come home and rest!!
Just keep on listening to your body, and take time "off" whenever you feel you need to.
And Ms. Type-A? Remember that what you might see as taking time "off" is actually taking time to focus on BEATING THAT CANCER.
You go, girl!! We're all so proud of you.

Nothing to feel bad about. You gave it your best and that took you thru one class that day. Amazing that you trained down, fought your way across the City, attended class and then repeated the whole process. Recognize it for what it was: a Herculean effort in and of itself.
Hope you're receiving the new shot of energy from our prayers! You've more than earned the right to rail on the cancer!

Keep your hands and counter tops clean. You don't want to get any kind of infection on top of all this. Give yourself plenty of breaks too. That ain't cotton candy that you're injecting yourself with.

Thinking of you. Be proud of what you accomplish every day - you're so much stronger than I.
