Anniversay

Today marks my first anniversary, although it’s not one that I ever planned on celebrating.

Today I have been cancer-free for one year.

Congratulations on one year, it's an odd, unforeseen milestone, but an important one. May they keep on coming!

Well, happy anniversary then! You know what you need? Cake! :)

Kim! We're both celebrating anniversaries today. Okay, so maybe your's is much more, um, bigger-er, but still! ;-)

I'm so happy for you.

Congrats! This anniversary is the first, but just like your marriage anniversaries, they just keep coming. . . YEA!

Love ya a bunch

It's funny how life adds on dates to remember each year. This one is a poignant one -- good, but in a serious way. I remember mine, if May, when my brain bled but I didn't die. That's good, right? Well yes, but there's the horrible part when you realize you may have lost it right then and there. And you rmember the pain. And still, it's good.

Over time, I ask myself -- how many years has it been? I mark the year with my youngest daughter's grade level then: she was finishing third and so she was just 9. Now she is 23 and finishing her first year of law school. Happy? Yes, I'm extatic. And yet there is that memory that I may not have made it. I may not have seen her come this far.

So celebrate, yes! With champagne! But I understand that it is a serious celebration. One that sort of makes you tear up on the inside, just a little. Less each year.

Keep smiling. You are indeed cancer free. That's a fantastic freedom! Congrats!!

Congratulations! I understand.

Kim!!

Congratulations, my friend. Congratulations!!

I'll be raising a glass of wine to you at dinner tonight.
